Welcome to Week One and Week Two’s blog posts. My experience with both weeks have been different, one very productive and the other quite a struggle. However I definitely am not letting a rough week stop me! So, let’s get into it!
Week One’s Update
I think sitting down and getting the piano or keyboard out is the hardest because I know I struggle to read the sheet music and hit the keys properly. It is definitely going to have to be a mindset change that even if it doesn’t sound great now, with time it will sound amazing!
Reading has been easier because I can do that from practically anywhere. While I am very slow at reading now, I'm sure speed will come with time. But like I stated the book has been phenomenal so far. Only qualm so far is that I wish the scenes were a bit longer, but I’ll include why in my post about the book when I am finished.
I believe exercising has been the most enjoyable activity for me so far, and I have started to do more in depth research in doing a routine that includes lifting and strength building with dumbbells. I also plan to add an extra day and see if I can keep up with that this week. There’s been a nice energy boost after exercising that I am absolutely loving and hope to continue to have after I exercise, though I am sure there will be days that I am absolutely exhausted.
Week Two’s Update
This week has been a hard one to keep up with the schedule due to work and general life events happening in general. So I’ll admit I haven’t kept up with what I was supposed to. Only thing I have really been doing is probably reading and my other hobby which is drawing.
I exercised about once this week and haven’t touched the piano yet. But I am hoping that this weekend will give me more opportunity to catch up on some of my tasks. I think I am going to adjust my schedule for tasks as well, due to new obligations like a job and me starting school this summer.
I have slowed down reading Taiwan Travelogue, but have picked up two other books; two romance books and just finished a short story called Rabbits. The romance books are a little easier to consume which makes sense, but I have not totally put down the other book I started with. Maybe I’ll make a blog post on the two books I’m currently reading, but I definitely want to go over Rabbits, since it was absolutely a fantastic book. Not to spoil too much, but the mood and vibe it invoked was palpable.
Mental Health Things
I’ve been pretty consistent on medication and therapy, which has been a great help when I am having a hard time. However, Mindfulness and thought awareness are the skills I’ll be working on this week, and my therapist even gave me some worksheets, which I love, so I am excited to use them. Which I think says a lot more about me then I would like, haha.
Wrap Up
So the general consensus is that I need to maybe focus on one or two hobbies moving forward, until I’ve got a good handle and focus on my new schedule. I think I’ve been doing well mentally the last two weeks, even with the schedule conflicts and inability to do some of my hobbies. I haven’t decided what hobbies/skills I want to adjust and change just yet. So I’ll make a small post with my new schedule and hobbies/skills I’ll be working on.
Either ways I hope those who are attempting their own hobbies and schedule continue on and keep their head up! And those just here for the ride, I hope you continue following along! Have a great week lovelies!
